            SCOUTING

Colin Hyde Post 172 sponsors two scout troops, 1564 boys and 1804 girls with a current total enrollment of about 35 scouts.  This setup of two troops under one sponsoring organization has proven to be very successful at engaging the entire family.  Many of our adult scout leaders have, or have had, scouts in each troop. We all look forward to the day we can fill the Legion Hall with 50+ rowdy scouts, parents and siblings.

Find out more at our troop website (https://www.bainbridgescouts.org) if you have any questions.

Welcome to Troop 1564 and Troop 1804!

Our Boy and Girl troops meet on most Monday evenings at 7pm at the American Legion Hall, join us for a meeting to learn more about Scouting.

Troop 1564 Boys

Troop 1564 has been serving boys in our Bainbridge community for over 25 years. This boy led troop prides itself on being youth led and seeking outdoor adventure in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Backpacking is fun. Surviving a downpour in the middle of the night is an adventure. Cooking over a campfire is fun. Learning which wild berries are edible is survival. Spending a weekend in the woods is fun. Breaking camp without leaving a trace is admirable. These are invaluable experiences that can be had in Scouting. These are life lessons that transform today’s Scouts into tomorrow’s leaders. If interested in joining, please visit us at our next meeting.

Troop 1804 Girls

On February 1st, 2019 we launched one of the first BSA girls troops on Bainbridge Island. This all girl troop focuses on outdoor adventure and building youth leadership. Our scouts have plenty of opportunities for camping, hiking, climbing, rafting, skiing, swimming, biking, fishing and much, much more. The scouts chose the number 1804 in honor of the year Sacajawea joined the Lewis & Clark trail. Like her, the scouts of Troop 1804 are trailblazers and pioneers, working to become some of the first young women Eagle Scouts in the country. Girls ages 11-18 are welcome to join. To learn more please attend our next meeting.
