Colin Hyde, circa 1918
Pvt. Colin Campbell Hyde served in the United States Army’s Motor Transport Corps and succumbed to the Spanish flu at the age of 24 on September 28, 1918, while stationed in Paris, France. He was buried at Suresnes American Cemetery in Suresnes, France. In 1949, the family of Colin Hyde donated the land on which the Post now stands, across the street from the Bucklin homestead where Colin was born.
